In 1958, the Research Office of Integrative Chinese and Western Medicine and the treatment ward of integrative Chinese and western medicine were established. In 2019, Minhang Campus established the TCM Mental Illness Department, which has 1 ward and 80 beds. The Department uses traditional Chinese medicine decoction for internal administration as well as ointments, smoked lotion, indirect moxibustion, and other traditional Chinese medicine for external treatment to carry out individualized treatment, which has significant effects in improving clinical cure rate as well as in reducing palindromia and side effects.
