Shanghai Mental Health Center has a complete set of clinical departments and strong technical capabilities. Modified electroconvulsive therapy(MECT)
MECT is effective in Major depression, Mania Schizophrenia with acute exacerbation and catatonia. MECT should be considered for use in patients who have failed medication trials, have not tolerated medications, have severe or psychotic symptoms, are acutely suicidal or homicidal, or have marked symptoms of agitation or stupor.
