Addiction is a serious public health and social issue. According to the 2023 China Drug Control Report, there are currently 1.12 million registered drug dependents in our country. In addition, there is an increasing trend in addiction to alcohol, sedatives, hypnotics, as well as gambling and gaming disorders. The formation of addictive behaviors is influenced by biological, psychological, and social factors. Therefore, interventions for addiction include comprehensive approaches such as medication therapy, psychological therapy, and physical therapy.

The Addiction Treatment Department was established in 1997. It is dedicated to addressing challenging issues such as craving and relapse among patients. The Addiction Treatment Department has introduced and developed psychological therapies, physical regulation techniques, and smart medical technologies, also developed out-patient clinics for their rehabilitation.

The Addiction Treatment Center has conducted a significant amount of scientific research and has obtained more than 40 research projects from national, provincial, and municipal levels. In the past five years, their research funding has reached millions of yuan, playing a leading role in this area. Currently, the treatment center provides comprehensive treatment for substance addiction and behavioral addiction patients. It also serves as a training base of the China Association of Drug Abuse Prevention and provide professional training to staff of drug abuse treatment institutes.
