Dr. Liu Fang has been deeply committed to the study of the pathogenesis and therapeutic targets of mental disorders. She has led numerous national and special fund research projects, including seven major new drug development initiatives in both China and Canada. Her groundbreaking discovery of the "receptor-receptor complex" signaling pathway has introduced a novel therapeutic strategy that targets receptor complexes specifically involved in disease progression under pathological conditions for the treatment of mental illnesses. With over 150 academic papers published in prestigious journals such as Nature, Cell, Nature Medicine, Neuron, and JCI, her series of achievements have been highlighted in special reviews in Science and Trends in Neuroscience, marking a new frontier in receptor regulation, and have been cited over 6,000 times. She holds 19 authorized international patents and has been honored with prestigious awards including the Canadian Psychiatric Research Foundation Award (CPRF), the National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression Award (NASARD), and the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology Award (ACNP).
