CiteScore 2022 has been released, General Psychiatry ranked in the discipline top 1% with CiteScore 18.9

General Psychiatry (GPsych) an English academic journal hosted by the Shanghai Mental Health Center, achieved a remarkable CiteScore of 18.9, according to the latest release from the Scopus database on June 8th of this year. The real-time CiteScore Tracker 2023 even reached an impressive 21.6 score.



Among the 531 journals in the field of Medicine-Psychiatry and Mental Health, GPsych ranks eighth (top 1.5%, Q1) and holds the first position (top 1%, Q1) among the 175 journals in the field of Neuroscience-Neurology.

CiteScore™, a citation-based metric provided by Scopus, relies on a reliable data source that includes over 28,100 active publications from more than 7,000 publishers, covering 333 disciplines. It assists researchers in analyzing and evaluating journals, book series, conference proceedings, and industry magazines. CiteScore has been widely recognized and utilized by researchers, librarians, journal editors, publishers, and authors, providing a basis for decision-making and improving decision quality and efficiency.

General Psychiatry, previously known as "Shanghai Archives Of Psychiatry," was founded in 1959 and is the first professional psychiatric journal in China. It is hosted by the Shanghai Mental Health Center and published in collaboration with BMJ Publishing Group.


In May 2019, it was indexed in the ESCI database and is also listed in PubMed, Scopus, PsycINFO, DOAJ, and CSCD. In 2019, it was selected for the China Science and Technology Journal Excellence Action Plan. From 2016 to 2022, it has received the title of "China International Influential Excellent Academic Journal" for six consecutive years. In 2023, it was awarded the title of "China's Most Influential Academic Journal" and is an outstanding journal in our country that ranks among the top 1%.
